About the Sulphur Springs Corvette Club
A note from David Brewer – I’ve previously been referred to as the “original organizer” or “founder” of the Sulphur Springs Corvette Club. Even though I may have initiated the first “Corvette Only” car show here in Sulphur Springs back in 2005, many others have helped make our club what it is today. During the 12 years since, some years I’ve had leadership positions and other years my business required me to be out of town so much that I wasn’t much help. There is a long list of very dedicated Corvette enthusiasts who have really kept the club going and improving each year. I thank each and every one of you.
Each year our Corvette Classic Show is held on the 4th weekend of October. Our club worked together for months to make our 2016 Classic one of the best. This year, the weather was near perfect and almost 160 Corvettes registered for the Saturday show on our downtown Celebration Plaza. Our Friday night Welcome Dinner was again held at the Sulphur Springs Country Club. The packed house got to visit with other Corvette owners, enjoy a delicious meal, and then finish off the evening with unbelievable entertainment by Magician, Entertainer, and “Bamboozler” - Diamond Jim Tyler. We enjoyed seeing his new C-7’s rear license plate also. His website is www.diamond-jim.com or just click on the license plate picture below.
If you missed our show in 2016, mark your calendar for the 4th weekend of October 2017. We will publish more details and re-confirm the date on this website in the months ahead.
As you can see by the many pictures on our website, we enjoy traveling together to car shows all over Texas, as well as other surrounding states. In addition to car shows, our club regularly gets together for other road trips and social events. If you enjoy Corvettes, consider joining our club. There are application links on our Membership Page.
I’m especially proud that our club likes to give back to our community. Each year we chose local non-profit organizations to support. Other than the money we retain to ensure we can fund our show each year, we try to give away as much as we can. I was again especially proud of our membership when they got out on two cold December nights and collected New Blankets and Cash Donations to be given to Senior Citizens through our local Senior Citizen’s Center. We collected 120 blankets, in addition to cash donations. The Senior Citizen’s Center is just one of several local non-profit organizations we support. Our website continuously adds pictures of our club giving away funds to the various chosen charitable organizations.
